During the 1950's, the segregation law in America was to be taken seriously and with heavy punishments to penalize those who did not abide by it. Some of the examples were the separate usage of toilets, separated seats on the bus, and employment. Furthermore, in the 1950's half of the African-American families lived in poverty. The 1950's was a horribly devastating time for the African-American, however, as the protests and protests kept building up, the African-American people ultimately succeeded in their Civil Rights Movement. |
